Astra Microwave wins Rs 310 crore defence contractAstra Microwave Products Ltd has bagged Rs 310 crore deal from one of its overseas customers. This is one of the largest defence offset contracts awarded to a mid-tier Indian firm. The Hyderabad-based microwave and radar component maker will supply critical radar sub-systems to the vendor which is participating in one of India's defence radar programme.

Railways component maker DTL Ancillaries raises $10 million India Industrial Growth Fund (IIGF), a private equity fund managed by Frontline Strategy Limited has invested $ 10 million in DTL Ancillaries. The Pune-based company makes key hardware components for the Indian Railways, Tata Motors, ArcelorMittal and Italian auto company Piaggio. IIGF which is part of $75 million fund managed by Mauritius-based investment advisory firm Frontline Strategy Limited aims to invest in India's fast growing small and medium enterprises.

Strategic Ventures Fund exits Nasdaq-Listed CBaySystems The SVF fund managed by India-focused PE firm Frontline Strategy, generated 4x returns on its almost decade-old investment. Strategic Ventures Fund (SVF), managed by Indian private equity firm Frontline Strategy, has exited medical transcription software and services provider MedQuist Holdings (formerly CBaySystems) for an undisclosed sum, SVF has disclosed.

Frontline Strategy picks up 26 pc stake in Shriram SEPL Mauritius-based Frontline Strategy has picked up 26 per cent stake in Shriram SEPL Composites for an undisclosed sum.  "We generally invest USD 5-15 million in a project and stay put for three to five years," a Frontline Strategy official said. He, however, declined to reveal the actual amount of investment in the firm.
